Starbucks Recycles, Do You?

Green recycling bin at Starbucks

My local Starbucks store recently underwent a remodel.  They closed for about three weeks and when they reopened they had better traffic flow, more seating, and a newly installed recycle bin at the service bar where customers add the “fixings” to their drinks.  This is such an easy thing to add to one’s dental office design, and it doesn’t require a complete remodel of the office to pull it off.  There are many very attractive waste containers available these days that adding recycling collectors to the office can be incorporated into virtually any dental branding design.  They can be as visible or transparent to patients as you’d like them to be, but we’d recommend doing a little something to draw patients’ attention to the fact that you are recycling.  Starbucks added a green ring to the opening of their recycle bin to help differentiate it from the waste.  Knowing that their dentist has gone “green” by recycling is a positive in most patients’ minds and reinforces loyalty.  After all, adding being environmentally conscience to your dental office’s branding message can’t be bad.
